  • Question

  • With WSUS and SCCM being on the same server would this cause wsus to show my devices as not reported because sccm is doing that job?

  • Hi,

It is not recommended to have both WSUS and SCCM on the same server, but it can probably be done, you can refer to Jason's answer over here WSUS and SCCM Coexistence on the Same Server

Here's also a thread talking about this WSUS and SCCM 2012

    Best regards,

  • Hi Tattedmatt,

Regarding the problem you mentioned, the client's status report was not received in the WSUS console, and is this server a SCCM site server?

First, please make sure that you have installed the Software Update Point Role of SCCM on this site server. If you add this role, the software update point interacts with the WSUS services to configure the software update settings and to request synchronization of software updates metadata. In other words, you need to deploy the update via SUP.

If Software Update Point Role is not installed, then the issue of WSUS has nothing to do with SCCM. Please consider checking from the following aspects:

    1. Check if system service is enabled: WSUS Service
    2. Check the group policy of the client application and correctly configure the correct intranet Microsoft update service location.
    3. Check the network connection between the client and the WSUS server.
    4. Did the client see any errors when checking for updates? Providing an error message will help analyze the problem.

Reply back with the results would be happy to help.

    Regards,
    Yic
