Word Does Not Remember Window Size RRS feed

  • Question

  • Word does not remember the last window size opened.  Every time I open a file, the window is either a half-screen or a three-quarters size vertical.  Each time I open a word file, I have to press Shift+Win Key+Arrow Up to bring it up to the full vertical size.  After I bring a file up to full vertical size and then close the file or close Word, the next time I open the file, it's still at half-size or three-quarters size.  I have followed the instruction of setting the shortcut to word on the desktop to "run maximized," but this does not help.  Any advice?

  • Hi,

If the problem only appears in Microsoft Word, please reset Word Data and Options registry subkey test if it helps, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541

Please test with other windows program (Notepad.exe) or Office program, if the problem still exist in other program, this issue may causes by Windows, you can create a new Windows profile test this issue.

  • Neither suggestion above solved the problem.  The problem is only in Word, not other Office or Windows programs.  The window always upon to half the monitor height.  Every time I open a word file, I have to resize it.
