How do I regain admin rights to registry? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Some .dll files (gw.dll, gwapi.dll, desktopsetup_pb.dll & syncae_pb.dll) fail to register when installing the desktop manager for my blackberry. I try registering the files with regsvr32 but get an error "dllregisterserver failed, return code was 0x80070005". I've read that this means I do not have full admin rights. I am the only user of this personal computer and always logged on as admin. It appears an application has changed some rights to the registry? How do I regain all admin rights to the registry? What is Remon.exe and will this help me get where I need to be?

    I'm running Windows XP, SP3

    Any help is much appreciated!
