    Hi Marcus

Windows 7 does include the Extensibility for touch enabled hardware, however the drivers and software to enable these functions are the responsibility of the hardware manufacturer.

Here are some links for your convenience.

    MSI Computer - Technical Support

    MSI User to User Forums

    Hope this helps.

Thank You for testing Windows 7

  • I just purchased the same PC and want to install Windows 7.  While researching compatibility, I found http://techstauf4.com/2009/05/06/msi-windtop-revisited-with-windows-7/, which details how to use the existing XP drivers, and then use the reset feature.  I've also found drivers to download at http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=654&prod_no=1776.  MSI has not released Windows 7 Drivers, but did find support info for Windows 7 on support.dell.com, and they claim drivers are available there.  Come ON MSI, get with it!!

Thanks ddrew. It works! The detailed procedure is like below:

    1. control panel > search for 'calibrate' > click on 'calibrate the screen for pen or touch input'

    2. click 'reset' on the 'display' tab

    3. download and install the (official) touch panel driver for win7 at: http://www.msi.com/product/aio/Wind-Top-AE1900.html#/?div=Driver

    4. reboot the pc after install

    5. click the program 'IdeaCom Calibration' and do the calibration.

    6. Reboot and try the touch screen. Voila, it works perfectly. Enjoy.

  • Remember you must follow the exact procedure step by step: i.e. do the 'reset' first and then install 'driver'...

  • Hi all, i know this is an old thread but my AE2220 is not working.  I tried to follow the steps above but I don't have the "reset" as an option.  It's greyed out.  I've tried to calibrate but nothing.  I'm at a loss.  any suggestions?

  • i just brought a second hand AE1900 and running Windows 8.1 update 1, had the x & y axis out and nothing worked from calibrating, trying to get t to work but nothing. Then installed Ideacom Touch Screen Driver (Ideacom 3.1.1406.15) and it picked up the touch panel and could calibrate it. Success !!!! 4point/9 point & 25 point Calibration works even swipe from right for charms and left for open apps.

Can be found here >>> http://www.msi.com/product/aio/Wind_Top_AE2020.html

  • This old computer has been sitting around for a long time and I'm planning on using it as a simple Kiosk device.  Although the links for the XP drivers doesn't work (Windows 7 Version: 3.3.0000.13), I did find them at  https://www.msi.com/All-in-One-PC/support/Wind_Top_AE1900#down-driver&Win7%2064 .  The AE2220 drivers (Ideacom 3.1.1406.15) are at https://www.msi.com/All-in-One-PC/support/Wind_Top_AE2020#down-driver&Win7%2064
