No authentication tab on USB to Ethernet adapter RRS feed

  • I have a Lenovo ultrabook that does not have an Ethernet port do to size limit. I bought some USB to Ethernet adapter that works fine, but I have to connect to one secure network and I need Authentication. Unfortunately this tab doesn't exists even after I tried every method described I founded around net. Service is started, restarted, unstarted, overstarted... but still no authentication tab.

    I also don't have this tab in wireless adapter properties.

  • What type of authentication do you need?

    Simple Ethernet adapters do not have any means for authentication builtin. Probably you have to create a VPN connection or another tunneled connection to your secure network. If you create this connection you can provide authentication information for that network.
