windows XP unable to authenticate after reset win password RRS feed

  • Question

  • When our users reset their windows password , next time they open the intranet page, IE starts prompting for username and password.

Previsouly IE was set to automatic authenticate with logged in user.

after all the trouble shooting , only fix I can come up with is, rename the windows user profile and let windows create a new one.

what do you guys and gals think? Have you ever seen such a thing?

    thanks in advance.

  • I tried clearing the IE cache. Also run ccleaner but no luck.

It looks like after resetting the windows password, the windows user profile gets corrupted and only way to bring everything back is to rename the user profile.

    thanks for trying.
