  • Question

  • I have lost my administrative account. I cannot do much of anything since I can't log in as Administrator. When I log off my daughters account I don't even have a switch user button. I also see no way to create an account under User Accounts. Please Help!!!! What can I do?

  • When you are at the log in screen, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice. Type Administrator for the name and leave the password blank. If you are on XP Home, you will need to boot into safe mode. You do this by pressing F8 repeatedly as the computer boots. When you see the advanced selection screen, choose safe mode and log in to the Administrator account.

  • Which user account was used before for logon? Have you tried the Administrator account already?

Just have a look at the following website: "How to log on to your Windows XP-based computer if you forget your password or if your password expires"
