Can only see Free/Busy information for some users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Our environment is Exchange 2007 SP3 and Outlook 2007 SP2 clients.

One of our users says she can't see the Free/Busy of some users, but can of others (all internal).

The same happens in OWA for her.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

From your description, you can try the following:

<1>Run Outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy switch and then check the result. This switch resets the Resource Scheduling and Delegate Settings. Once Outlook has started with this switch, it will clear and regenerate free/busy information, removing scheduled resources from mailboxes that no longer exist. In short, it will update the free/busy information.

PLEASE NOTE: you must include the space between Outlook.exe and the /cleanfreebusy switch

<2> Logon into Outlook as the problematic  account, verify the default data file configuration in Account Settings, and make sure the User account on the Exchange server is set to be the default one (not a pst file if there is).

<3> Add one or two appointment or meeting schedule on the calendar from the main manue bar (not from the calendar folder), save it and then restart Outlook. Try again to see if this works.

If the issue continues, please provide the following information:

<1>Check the application log in the server to see if there is any error regarding free/busy

<2>Check whether other users can see the problematic user’s free/busy in Outlook

<3>Check whether the problematic user is an internal user

Hope it helps. If you encounter any difficulties, please let us know.

    Thanks

Why would you expect anyone to be able to see F/B info for any mailbox
    other than "all internal"?
