Windows Rollups and cumulative update question Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an MDT deployment using the 1709 ISO.  I have also downloaded the updates that have come after it.

    KB4040724    934 MB
    KB4048955    299 MB
    KB4051963    460 MB

I read on a website that all cumulative and rollups are suppose to include all of the previous updates..

As KB4051963 is the newest does that mean I should remove KB4040724 and KB4048955 from the packages?

If yes, then why is  KB4051963  so much smaller than the previous updates?

  • Correct. you just need the latest cumulative update. And as far as KB4040724 being larger goes - it is an update for the previous iteration of Windows 10 (1703), so it is not really applicable here
