  • Hi,

The feature to keep history in the Skype for Business conversations does not yet exist, but is much requested at the Skype for Business Uservoice feedback site. I recommend you vote for this feature request there.

There are 3rd party tools offering this service, for instance https://grovety.com/products/historage

For the long-term you might want to take a look at Microsoft Teams, which has this feature built-in.

  • You can check chat history with SFB client, click the "Clock " icon, then you can view the chat history.

But you need to deploy exchange server in your environment, otherwise you can't view conversation history.

  • Hi sarmakumar,

Because the SFB 2019 server is preview edtion, this function is related to SFB client, please wait to SFB 2019 client formal edition, after that ,make a test.SFB 2016 client do not have this feature.

  • thanks for the update,

Set-CsConversationHistoryConfiguration, will this command save all the chat history in server?

  • Yes it will.

    Set-CsConversationHistoryConfiguration -Identity "global" -EnableServerConversationHistory $True

In this example, the EnableServerConversationHistory property is set to True ($True). In turn, conversation histories, missed call notifications, and missed IM notifications will be stored on the server rather than in client mailboxes.
