Workflow Configuration - Watch Incident Extension class? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to create a workflow that targets our Incident Extension class, but the default 'Incident Event Workflow Configuration' only targets the default class.

    Any ideas?

  • You shouldn't need to target any extension class. When you extend a class, those new properties become part of the class you've extended (in all contexts). You're not really creating a new class, you're just adding onto an existing class. The vehicle you use to extend the class just happens to be a class itself (it's the way the system understands it in the background..it also helps you organize your extensions)

Are you trying to target a new class that you derived from the Incident? (Derivation and Extension are different). I don't believe that can be done since that particular work flow configuration is targeted only at the Incident class.

If you've extended the Incident class by creating a class with the Extension attribute equal to true and the base set to the
Incident class, then take a look-see at the available properties in the Criteria section of the Incident event workflow configuration. You'll see your new properties listed :)
