Problem to install VS 2005 SP1 (0x80070643)

    Hi,

     

    I do have three development server and I approved the VS 2005 SP1. But on all servers (W2K3) the update failed:

    Unfortunately SP1 for Visual Studio is nototrious for not watning to install via WIndows Update (as a part of SCE or otherwise). There are a number of things you voould check and try to see if you can get WSUS to install the SP. Make sure you have plenty of free disk space on the drive where WSUS loads its updates (the SP1 update is over 400MB by itself) and make sure you have plenty of RAM in your SCE server as loading a >400MB MSI file into memory to check its validity can cause issues.

    The simplest solution however is to download SP from Microsoft's site (I would offer a link, but there are so many versions of VS that I would hate to point you to the wrong file) and run the install manually.
