DirectAccess client access to internal IPv4 no hostname RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can I use directaccess to connect to hosts via IPv4 only (not using the FQDN) for example, I would like to ssh to routers and switches as a directaccess client without using host names.

  • That is correct.
The reason for this is that the DA client is always using *only* IPv6 to communicate with the DA server and corpnet. Because of this, when connecting over the DA channel over the Internet, the client application has no awareness of IPv4 and IPv4 addressing.

  • No, this is not possible. You have to establish a connection using a) an IPv6 address or b) a DNS name.
