HTML5 and alternative codecs RRS feed

  • Question

  • "Enable alternative codecs in HTML5 media elements" are used only built in Windows 7 codecs, and not play HTML5 videos with LAV or FFDshow. Would such a possibility in the future?

  • Hi,

The future of the web is HTML5. Microsoft is deeply engaged in the HTML5 process with the W3C. HTML5 will be very important in advancing rich, interactive web applications and site design. The HTML5 specification describes video support without specifying a particular video format.

However, like Rob said, "play HTML5 videos with LAV or FFDshow" doesn't only depend on Microsoft. This is a public issue.
