Shared Mailboxes Send on Behalf RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a shared mailbox and gave John Full access and Send As permission. John requested that emails sent from that shared mailbox, should appear as ( From John on behalf of shared mailbox) . So , i gave him send on behalf permission, but still when he send emails it doesnt show (From John on behalf)..

So is it even supported or possible to give the same user Send As and Send on Behalf on a shared mailbox ? and if this is the case, how can John chose who the emails he sent will look like

Answers

  • Remove John's "Send As" right from the shared mailbox's user account.

  • Hello,

When you grant the same user Send As and Send on Behalf on a shared mailbox at the same time, send on behalf permission won’t work.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  •

The Send As permission isn't granted until after replication has occurred. Replication times depend on your Exchange and network configuration. To grant the permission immediately, stop and then restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.

  • It's not replication, it's an interval which the Information Store refreshes settings, and it's by default two hours.  Permissions changes can take that long to take effect.

  • Which is why I said to remove "Send As" several posts up.
