Windows 10 Skype for Business 2016 132 bit - The application just stays at Contacting Server and Signing In RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am running Mac OS Sierra 10.12.3 and have installed VMware Fusion 8.5.3 on which i am running windows 10. I installed Skype for Business 2016 on my windows side and it just does not connect. The Skype for Business on my mac side connects just fine. I am not really sure what the issue is.. i have uninstalled Office and Skype and reinstalled both on Windows side, it used to work a few day's back and now it does not anymore.

I have tried turning off all firewalls on the windows 10 side but still of no help. However i did notice one thing.. if i enter the incorrect password it does come back to me to and say my password is incorrect. If i enter all the correct details it just sits there trying to login.

I also tried to check the sign in Log's and it says no data available.

    Thanks

    A

  • Try to do a manual sign in by specifying the Skype Pool FQDN and see if that works.

  • Check out this article - https://y0av.me/2012/02/20/manually-configure-lync-clients-for-lync-online/

Its for Lync but the options are the same in SfB 2016. In the Internal Server name, specify your SfB Pool FQDN.

  • Hi,

It tends to behave very funny now - When i enter the incorrect password it will tell me my password is incorrect. When i enter all the correct credential's It gives me the message that it cannot contact the Business Server for my organization. The fact that it can validate the password means it can contact the Server... Any ideas ?

    Thanks
