Force checkout the document RRS feed

  • When I try to overwrite a file, I get a message that the file is currently checked out or locked for editing by another user

  • Working as intended then?  If you're a site admin, take possession of the document via the Library settings and check it back in.

  • You must have Full Control or Override CheckOut Permission. So follow the steps. To check go into the document library and make sure the account your using has permission to full control,

    Else request your admin to create custom permission type on override checkout and assign to your username.  That will help to discard/override check out documents.

    I'm not able to see the check out and check in settings. I'm the admin.

  • Can you view the item context menu drop down? You should be able to overwrite the checkout if the document is checked out to someone else.
