Exchange 2016 activesync problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • i'm managing an exchange 2016 systems with 4 mailbox servers and using f5 as load balancer. it's working fine. but, recently days i figure out that's exchange activesync on ios and android (native app) cannot load old message (not event sync darft, sent, ... totally empty mailbox) when first add account on devices (success added). but it's still send/receive email normally. i found many events with http code 401.1 IIS log like this :

    2019-05-16 03:12:30 10.200.0.211 POST /Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml &CorrelationID=<empty>;&cafeReqId=fc1e0326-29b2-4e5f-ab56-254813352c6f; 443 test01 10.200.0.202 Apple-iPhone10C6/1605.227 - 401 1 1326 3

    test01 is an email account.

So help me troubleshoot this problem.

  • You may first check whether you have the days to sync set to a short time. If so, you may try set the days to sync to "All", and then see whether you can see the old emails now.

Besides, what Exchange 2016 CU level are you currently on? Please try upgrading to the latest CU and then test it again. There used to have a similar issue that was caused by a legacy CU, see Email items missing on a mobile device after synchronization with Exchange ActiveSync for more details.
