Drive need to clean RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is that possible to make more smarter to pause the backup and clean the drive and use other drive to continue the backup? Rather than completely failing entire backup?

Or is that possible to have DPM clean drive set by schedule?

  • Hi,

You have accurately pointed out a few flaws that DPM has with regards to tape cleaner handling and the way backup jobs are handled when a dirty drive is reported.  Other backup products handle this much better.

  • Hi,

here is a PowerShell Scirpt, which you can use to schedule the Cleaning Job

    $DPMLib = Get-DPMLibrary -DPMServerName $DPMServerName

    $td = Get-TapeDrive -DPMLibrary $DPMLib

#Der Cleaning Job wird wür die Tape Drives gestartet
    Start-TapeDriveCleaning -TapeDrive $td
