WIN-U and Utility Manager RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Greetings,

I noticed my kiosk computers all have WIN-U enabled. I've blocked most windows shortcuts using the registry, but I can not find anything for this one. They all run "iexplore.exe -k" so only a webpage is displayed. Sadly the mouse and keyboard are available to the users to browse the site.

I've tried removing c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe but it gets recreated.
I've tried blocking the above .exe in SteadyState for the kiosk user, but it starts anyway (how? I can block anything else OK).

I googled and found an application (Disable_WIN-U) but the installation package can no longer be downloaded from anywhere.

Any suggestions on how to block WIN-U, short of prying off the WIN key?
