  • This driver does NOT support running RAID 0 or 1 on VT 8237 under Windows Vista.  It provides VT 8237 capability under Window Vista for:

Provide DMA capability for VIA PATA/SATA/PATA+SATA IDE Controllers

On X86 OS 2K/XP/Serv2003, support hot-plug feature upon MS IDE default driver for VIA SATA IDE Controllers. (RAID class SATA controllers are not included).

On X64 OS XP/Serv2003, support hot-plug feature upon MS IDE default driver for VIA SATA IDE Controllers. (RAID class SATA controllers are not included).

    NO RAID!

  • On January 11, 2007 VIA released new RAID driver version 5.4 for Windows Vista.  I was not able to make this driver work.  The diver installs, but after activating the RAID 1 array the PC crushes on crcdisk.sys.

On the Computer Management (Local)>Storage>Disk Management the C drive is showing Error, I do not know what it means.  Event Viewer has some ambiguous errors (Event 15); there is no definition for it on Vista TechNet. If anyone has information on this please share.
