Win 10 Upgrade Task Sequence never completes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been scratching my head over this one.  I have the latest MDT build and am deploying Win 10 Enterprise (1703).  Test machine is a VMWare 6.5 VM with Windows 7.

The Deployment successfully runs the upgrade, installs a couple applications, and then downloads and installs Updates.  ZTIApplications and ZTIWindowsUpdate.log show they are completed.  MDT monitoring shows it's on step 22 of 30.  The only thing after Windows Updates in the Task Sequence is the Rollback folder with "Gather Local Only", with the default settings that come in Standard Client Upgrade Task Sequence.  The computer event logs show the restart was initiated at 6:56am, and it finally restarted at 7:18am.  Since then the dumb appstore is downloading the zune apps and all the other junk I will work to get rid of shortly.

So, I'm under the impression that this TS is not completing.  Is it true that there is more processing to do?  Shouldn't I expect an autologon as local admin to complete the ProtectYourPC processes?  As of now I have to login manually and wait while it runs these processes.

The unattend.xml in the TS directory on the deployment share has ProtectYourPC set to 3 to not run this operation currently, but when i logon it runs anyways.  Maybe this is the expected behavior?  Note:  Autologon is set to 999.  So what am I missing?  I'd like this to complete any required tasks so the user can come in the morning and get to work without waiting.

Below is the end of the BDD.log and customsettings.ini.

    Thank you!

  • Sorry, I don't see enough information here to tell what the problem is.

If MDT is not finished, Windows should reboot and resume MDT.

If you are still having problems, please copy your bdd.log file to a public share like onedrive and share the link
