Access Excel Reports using Project Lite? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have project online instance. Configured oob excel reports and working fine. Now few users around 200, want to access only excel reports(Out of the box) and they don't need to do any project schedule related activities. Just only view excel reports.

So in this scenario, what would be ideal license those users should have? Is Project Lite sufficient for them? Please suggest the right license that has minimum cost.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Ram

  • Hello,

This would require a Project Online license as the Team Members don't have access to the Project Odata Reporting Service, based on the default permissions only Portfolio Viewers or above have access to the reporting service.

  • Hi

That's a clear no Project Lite - no access to Business Intelligence.

A standard Project Online license is minimum for access to Business Intelligence.

  • Thanks Paul and John for your responses. I was thinking we may user "Use a stored account" to bypass current logged in user permissions. Can we do something using option, I'm still exploring on this.

    Thanks..
