MS can't check my Windows 7 license because VBS is damaged RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I don't get any "Windows 7" Updates since weeks.

    I think Microsoft blocks every update request because the slmgr.vbs doesn't work any more.

    Just look what the "MGADiag" tool says:

    Licensing Data-->
    C:\Windows\system32\slmgr.vbs(22, 1)
    Laufzeitfehler in Microsoft VBScript:
    ActiveX-Komponenten kann kein Objekt erstellen:

    Do I have to re-install the "Windows Scripting Host" when it is damaged?

    And how do I have to do this?

  • Hi,

    Maybe you could try sfc /scannow

  • The VB script fails when setting the g_resourcedictionary variable:

    Set g_resourceDictionary = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")

    This tells me that the scrrun.dll DLL might not be properly registered which houses this function. Run :

    regsvr32 /i "c:\windows\system32\scrrun.dll"

    See if this resolves the issue. If not, try searching for "Scripting.Dictionary" under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and see if you find a key like:
