Special Character not exported to SQL 2005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ,

From Source we have some attributes for which special characters are allowed and FIM also accepts the same , but while exporting the same to SQL 2005 encountering export error as special characters not allowed.

Is this is because of the limitation of SQL 2005 ?

In this case , if i update any column in SQL with special character through Update query directly , then SQL is accepting the same.

Export of special character from FIM to SQL 2005 is failing.

Can anyone please advice on the resolution of this........

  • Hello,

just a shot in the dark, as I never had this problem and SQL 2005 is a long time not supported any more.

Since you can update the table manually with update queries it seems to be not a SQL issue.

It maybe could be the API used or a limitation of the SQL MA when it detects 2005 Version.

You could try an alternate SQL MA like the generic SQL MA currently in preview:

    https://connect.microsoft.com/site433/Downloads

You must register on connect for free first with a live id to get access.

You can also consider writing your own MA or use a generic MA like PowerShell.

But maybe someone elso once had that issue an can help you further.
