Can I implement KioskPC with SteadyState RRS feed

    Hi,

I am totally green but I got an assignment to look into alternative implementation for my company's KioskPCs - a set of terminals in the open area for general staff whose job do not require them to have a dedicated PC.

Each staff already has an account created in the network domain.  They can logon to any of the KioskPC (WinXP) to do some admin stuff, like accessing Webmail or SAP through the default intranet portal.

Currently, we're using screen-blocking software to restrict what they can do - they cannot go to other websites except through links in the portals, they cannot launch MS Office, but they can user Excel/Word viewers to view documents.

And they can't make changes to any PC settings or access the HD.

After experimenting with SteadyState, I could create a local user profile with similar restrictions.  But how do I impose similar restrictions on network users whose accounts are not managed locally?

I am very new at this and would appreciate any help I can get.  Case studies on similar scenarios would be helpful.

Or should I use some other software instead of SteadyState?

    Snowy
