  • Hi Dean,

    Your sip address is fine.

If your sip address is different from the users AD UPN you have also to add the AD UPN name to the login data of the mobile client through advanced options.

  • Hello Dean,

Having a sip address with "." will not be an issue as its supported one, We need to check  if there is any special policy that got applied for the user. you can  use the connectivity analyzer to check which phase the problem is occuring using detailed view.

  • Hi Dean Maher,

Welcome to post in our forum.

Would you please tell us did you mean you cannot sign in SFB on mobile phone with the format like First.name@mydomain.com (which including “.”)?

Did the issue only appeared on the specific mobile phone, are there any error messages when you sign in?

If the issue appeared on the specific mobile phone, please try to reinstall the SFB client with the latest update and make sure your mobile phone system is the latest version.

Based on my understanding, SFB sip address is supported for dot(.), so regarding your issue, we will suggest the following troubleshooting steps for your reference:

1.Please use another normal mobile phone test if the issue persists.

2.If multiple users have the issue, we suggest you check if there are any error message or event IDs in your SFB front end server.

3.You could also use Microsoft remote analyzer tool to test the connectivity issue

    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/

4.Please also make sure the configuration of your reverse proxy is correct.

Hope this reply helpful to you.

  • Hi Alice , Thanks for the response .

For the majority of users it not an issue, Mobile App works great but for a set of users that have an Alias with a "." in there name , they can't login to SFB from there Mobile Phones .  Skype is new to our environment so  i'll have to say it always been the case .

I've try there Phones and I have no issue logging in and I've Provide them with a Phone that I use for testing and they still having issue .  So I assuming it has to do with the account or setup of the mobile app .

    Thanks for the help

  • Hi Dean Maher,

    Sorry for my delay.

Since there is no issue with multiple users in your environment, so there may be no issue with SFB server side and there is no issue with reverse proxy.

Please try to compare user attributes in AD between the affected accounts and other normal accounts.

Hope this reply helpful to you, have a nice day!
