Installing Vista on Asus P5GD1 Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed vista after a few hours onto my gigabyte sata 80gb drive, was working fine was installing my developer apps etc. then it crashed.

since then ive not been able to log in it goes to BSOD just before login appears.

So i tried the vista home premium repair and it crashed, and since then have tried reinstalling it etc etc with it comeing up with errors, the system runs fine on xp pro.

    My system is :

    MB : Asus P5GD1 Pro
    Chip : P4 3200 Socket 775(640)
    Graphics: NVidia 6600 GT 256mb
    Ram : 4 X Corsair Twinx512-3200
    HDD: Gigabyte 7200 80GB Sata x 2
    Samsung 7200 250GB Sata II x 2
HeatSink : Asetek VapoChill Micro™ ULTRA LOW NOISE
    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
    Windows XP Pro (Dual Boot)
    Case: Antec TX1050B Server Case
    Power: Antec SmartPower 2.0 ATX12V v2.0
    Monitor : Samsung 40" HDTV

I;ve tried to install the vista on one of the samsung sata II 250gb with the other hard drives disconnected and it gets to the point of installing files then come up with an error about a file cant be copied and has to restart.

I'm very unimpressed with vista so far and im taking it back to the store tomorrow £200 for a peice of software that doesnt work is brilliant.

I thought I would try here for a last ditch attempt to see if anyone hasa  solution or im taking it back.
