Hi Everyone,
We are busy with our first enterprise voice deployment. so far I think I have a hold on most of the thigns, but one that is puzzling me is what happens when I simply press "Call" on a user's contact card - and specifically a user who has a telephone number or cell number configured in AD. What happens is that Lync automatically seems to call the Cell phone, and not make the call Lync call - even though the user's status is Online and available.
Is there any way I can manage this? Obviously you would want to have a Lync call wherever possible, to cut down on telephony costs.
thanks....

Check out the following Technet Article.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398300.aspx
by using set-csclientpolicy and setting the EnableVOIPCallDefault to true anytime a user places a call it calls Lync.

Hi,
Where are you picking up the contact card? in Lync or somewhere else?
It should do a Lync call by default, and only a mobile/other if you choose the dropdown.
Are they definitly a Lync user? Are they showing up online? Are they an Enterprise Voice user?
thanks
