Outlook 2010 - Google Calendar - Recurring Events Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a user with Outlook 2010 who is syncing email and calendar with Google. She has shared her calendar with two other users. One of the users set up a recurring event. The user then changed the title of the recurring event. The change shows on the calendar but when she double-clicks the event the changes do not appear. She has found this on several events.

  • Hi Mooreted,

    >> She has shared her calendar with two other users.

Could you please share more details about how she shared the calendar?
Does this problem only occurs to one of the user and everything works fine on the other user's side?
By "several events", do you mean the issue only affect some of the events created by this user?

If possible, it would be better that you can share the relevant screenshots then we can do more research on this.

Besides, if the problem cannot be reproduced on the other user's Outlook, please try start Outlook in safe mode (Press Win + R, type "outlook /safe", press Enter.) on the problematic user's computer and see if there will be any improvement.

Any findings, please post back at ease.

    Best regards,
    Yuki Sun

  • As to calendar sharing, she set up her calendar then had the two users share their calendars with her, then she added those calendars to her calendar so that she can see her calendar and the two users who shared their calendars with her.

In this first screen shot is how the recurring event looks on the calendar:

The second screenshot shows how it looks when you double-click the event. Notice the title is the old title not the new title that shows in the first screenshot:

  • In case this happens to someone else:

Backup the user's PST file from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Google Apps Sync

    Delete everything in that folder

Delete the user's profile from Mail

Leave Outlook closed and use Google Gsuite Sync to create a new user with the same email address. Once the new profile is created use Gsuite to sync mail, contacts and calendars.
