  • I am assuming that these contacts you exported are per user and were stored in the users mail client.  If so, you don't want to use Exchange PowerShell to import them as they would then be visible to all users with Outlook.

If you do decide to use Outlook, use these sites for reference:

  • Sorry for the delay

Im talking about importing contact from csv file to a particular user's inbox. Because each user have their own contact separately. so i want to import these users contacts to that particular user's contact. i dont want these contact to be displayed for all users except the user who owns that contact.

The one you where mentioning I know. i dont want to use outlook. bcos i have lot of users.

Our users were not using outlook for previous POP3 server. All users contacts can be individually exported to a CSV file.

  • What client are you using to connect to Exchange with?  The contacts are per user contacts and unless you want them all in Exchange, you are going to have to import them into your mail client.  If you are using Outlook, then that is the one toimport to.  Same with Outlook Express or similar client.

I am hoping to solve this problem as well to help with migrating users from a non-Exchanged based e-mail environment.

Using PowerShell to import contacts into Exchange and Outlook Live

Also, just for the sake of information, ContactGenie MultiPort allows for the import/export of contact information to any shared mailbox selectable at the time of import/export whereas the other CG products (QuickPort/DataPort) support shared mailboxes that have already been added to a given profile
