Blue Screens during the "Applying Image" Phase in Lite touch RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My department got a new model laptop (Dell Latitude 5480) in and I've run into an issue imaging them.  I needed to use new WinPE drivers from dell to get this model to actually connect from Lite touch.  When it gets to about 50% during the applying image phase I get a blue screen error (Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap).  Actually the first time i loaded the lite touch after getting the right PE drivers it had the same blue screen while sitting at the select a task sequence page.

    Im using MDT version 6.3.8443.1000

ADK for Windows 10 build 1703

    Pushing a Windows 10 x64 build 1703 image.

Im currently the using x86 LiteTouch wim file.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

  • I figured it out.  I used the x64 PE boot wim and that went without a hitch.

  • Glad you could figure it out. Microsoft PFEs always recommend that you use x64 boot images for 64 bit deployments.

  • I'm getting this error after upgrading MDT to 6.3.8443.1000 and Windows ADK to 10.1.15063.0.  The deployment share is already setup to create both x86 and x64 WinPE boot wims.  What am I missing?
