Creating project sites in SharePoint 2013 through MS project publish RRS feed

  • Question

  • LS

I have ~ 20 instances where i re-publish existing projects on the server and no pop-up appears for site creation.

For all these projects the site has not been created yet and the create associated project site is turned on.

the projects where all first published before i turned on the create site option.

    How can I fix this?

  • Hello,

You could try the following to create sites for these projects: Open PWA and navigate to PWA Settings > Connected SharePoint sites, select the project and click the create site button. If this works for the one site, repeat for the other projects.

I have updated my project site template and now i need to re-create the sites for my projects - i remove the sites through the connected sites page in SharePoint then re-publish my projects using the MS Project 2013 client and then get prompted to create the site and click publish and the project publishes successfully and no new site is created.

    what should i do differently?

  • Hi there,

I would follow Paul's advice, but also since you updated the Site Template - also check the queue to see if there are any failures there with regards to the site creation.

There are many changes you can make to a site template that will break the site creation process.

  • Ok thanks James - I know I can creates sites successfully from the Connected Sites page and I will use that.

the site gets created succssfully when the project is published for the first time - once i then remove the site and re-publish, it does prompt me if i want to create a site and i say Yes and then it does not create the site - this I cannot solve and I will leave it there.

    Thanks - TT.
