Notify assigned to user when they are unassigned from incident RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to create a notification for the assigned to user when a ticket is reassigned.  The notification should go to the previous user telling them that they are no longer assigned the ticket.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Edit: I am just going to extend the class and create a 'previously assigned to' relationship.  I will add an additional user picker to the form and tell the techs that they have to enter the previous users name over before they assign the ticket to themselves.

  • Im pretty sure this is impossible since once the user is unassigned they no longer have a relationship with the work item.

  • You can query the object's relationship history to get the previous related object. I don't know if there are any powershell cmdlets to handle history, but it could be done with a .net (C#) workflow.
