Server fans running constantly! RRS feed

    We have recently installed a Dell Poweredge R510 for our echange server.  The fans have been running full speed non stop for two weeks now. What is causing this and how do I stop it?

       Please communicate with server provider.
       Exchange system won’t affect fans.

    I had the exact same issue with Our Poweredge R510 servers, (4 of them)

     

    I called Dell, and they had me install a bios update..that fixed it for me.

    Had a similar problem where the fan RPM on my PE R510 kept going up and down every 10 to 15 minute.  Updated the BMC software and restarted.  The problem appears to be resolved now.
