  • Question

  • My Questions are:

    1. what is the software minimum requirement for setting up Project server 2010.

    2. what functionality do you loose if you dont install sharepoint server and exchange server but you have project server?

    Thank you

  • The first question is pretty broad, but I'll take a stab:

    > 1. what is the software minimum requirement for setting up Project

Windows Server 2008 64 Bit, SQL Server, SharePoint Enterprise (per server),
Microsoft Project Professional (for some users), Project Server (per server),
and the associated Client Access Licenses for the server based products above.

Project Server is dependent on SharePoint.  Project Server may not be installed
without SharePoint.  Exchange Server provides e-mail functionality and Outlook
integration - which is not required to use Project Server.

  • Hello Godwin

SharePoint Enterprise is required.  Exchange is not.  If you don't have SharePoint you lose all the functionality other than just using Project Professional only as a client.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee683978.aspx contains all the hardware and software requirements.

    Cheers!
