The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported RRS feed

  • Question

  • We deploy our Win8.1 build to MS Surface 3 Pro using MDT 2013. Occasionally users get the message "The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported". The article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2976660 suggests putting the following command into the task sequence - cmd /c reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\gpsvc" /v Type /t REG_DWORD /d 0x10 /f . Trouble is when I add this Command Line step into the sequence it errors at this point. Does anyone know how I can get this to work?

  • You will have better luck adding it to the unattend.xml.

Most important details are logs. If you are unsure how to post logs or where to find them then reference https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/
