Rollup KB3172605 breaks single HTTPS website RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

Over the past couple of days I have been troubleshooting a problem were a web based HTTPS secured password manager hosted internally on a RedHat server would only work from some workstations. After some investigation I identified KB3172605 as a cause for this problem. I am by no means a programmer or web expert - but after installing this update the website started working again. There is a Microsoft support article mentions something about TLS and SHA being effected. We will have to reinstall this update at some point again, and I was hoping I could get some guidance on how to make this website work with the update installed.

My first thought was to maybe exchange the self-signed certificate on the web service I am trying to reach, but in my organization that is quite a process - so before I start with this maybe you could give me some pointers?

    Thank you for your help!

    Best Regards!
