SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 "not accepted" by SCCM 2012 SP1 Beta

Question

Hi,
I'm trying to perform a fresh install of SCCM 2012 SP1 (ConfigMgr_SCEP_2012_SP1_Beta_ENU_7782) on a new test server (Windows 2008 R2 SP1 ENU), but the wizard gets stuck at the Database Information page. It lists the minimum required versions of SQL Server (2008 R2 SP1 CU6 or later).
I'm running SQL Server 2008 R2 (standard) with SP2 and CU1 (never installed SP1 nor CUs).BEfore, I was running SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP2 but no CU, and I had the same problem.
The technet documentation states that SQL Server 2008 SP2 (without CUs) is supported.
Anyone else experience this? Do I need to install SP1 and CU6 before installing SP2 for SQL? Doesn't make sense to me.

thanks

I suggest you post on Connect. Remember, what you are installing is Beta and there are lots of known (and unknown) issues. The documentation published on TechNet is meant for SP1 RTM.

Your right that should of worked....Hmm I would try using SQL R2 SP1 with CU8 that will work for sure. I think I may have had some weird issues before with SQL R2 with SP2 and the SP1 Beta.

Thanks Jason. I didn't think that technet documentation was only for RTM; makes sense.
I went back to SP1 CU6 for now, and the setup goes through.
I'll try SP2 for SQL when SP1 for SCCM is released.

I think I also recall trying to install 2012 SP1 onto SQL 2008 R2 SP2 and couldn't get past the pre-req checker either, resulting in using SQL 2008 R2 SP1 CU6/7.
