IAG IP and server name RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Any ramifications for changing external and internal server IPs on IAG 2007?  I would like to change the server name as well.  The reason being is that we are moving the IAG from one data center to another.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

For IAG there are some ramifications around changing IPs and servername depending on your configuration.  Most of those ramifications relate to other application/firewall access, but if you use KCD you will need to make sure that you've validated that the delegation settings after the server name change to make sure that the delegations are still in place.

The list of tasks for an IP migration would typically be:

    ·     update IP/subnet/dns as needed

    ·     update static routes as appropriate

    ·     update ISA 2006 network definitions for the "Internal" network if you've modified the internal network IPs

    ·     update network connector settings as appropriate

    ·     activate IAG configuration and look for any errors reported

** Note: This answer is not applicable to UAG as there are severe constraints around changing the internal IP and or server name.
