How to archive a MSPS workplan - the data should be removed from published database (microsoft project server) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a workplan in microsoft project management server. I need to archive this workplan so that the data should not be available in published database, from where my application pulls the data.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

Before you delete then, go to the Administrative Backup page and run a backup for Projects. Once that completes in the Project Server queue, re check to see if you can see the projects in the archive DB. You only want to delete from the Published database so check that radio button.

  • Hello,

You can just delete the project from the Published database or both the Working (Draft) and Published databases from the Delete Enterprise Objects page found in PWA > Server Settings. Before you do delete the project, confirm you have the project in the Archive DB. You can do this by viewing the projects available to delete in  the Archive database or look at the Admin restore page on PWA > Server Settings.

  • Thanks Paul..

I could see three option to delete,

    1. delete from published database only 2. from both published and draft 3. only from archived.

I am not able to see any projects Archive database or look at the Admin restore page on PWA > Server Settings.

I may need to restore this project back, now i want to remove this from published database only. How should i proceed and how to restore...

    Thanks alot..
