Windows phone 8.1 embedded handheld (Panasonic FZ-E1) - push apps in foreground RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an upcoming project by which we want to use a Panasonic FZ-E1 handheld with windows phone 8.1 embedded os. The device is used by drivers, who are delivering packages and shippments. We would like to send notifications to the device if there is something new to pick up or to deliver. The user must see this message in order to complete the tour and not forget to pick up/deliver the package/shippment because he oversees the message.

What possibilities exists to bring a message on the device which the user must surely confirm? Unfortunately push notifications are not supported for a WP 8.1 LOB-Apps signed with a symantec certificate, so it must be another solution.

The customer's requirement is pushing the appropriate app in foreground when a message comes in (whatever message his will be), but this seems impossible. Are there any solutions? It could be just a message, a popup or something which doesent disappear until user confirms it.
