RamMap doesnt work in Windows 10 April Update 1803 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After update to 1803 RAMMap starts with empty list and empty top and left bars. If I press F5 - silently closes. Menu entries from "Empty" work fine.

  • I can reproduce this.
Seems to be a known issue: RAMMap doesn't work in Windows insider preview

  • Known in preview, but now in release too (or still)...

  • I can confirm this as well for RAMMap 1.50.

I freshly installed Windows 10 Pro 1803 two days ago and get the exact same behaviour.
I can't speak for previous versions because I didn't use RAMMap before.

Using File > Refresh or pressing F5 just closes the application after about two seconds.
There is no indication that it crashed (no error message or "stopped working" popup, exit code is 0).

Interestingly, I can use File > Save... , which generates an RMP (XML) file that contains for example a file list.
Using File > Open... closes RAMMap though, just like Refresh.

I can't provide screenshots either because my account is new.

  • I'm having the same problem.

  • I believe that I am experiencing the same issue but with the different applications (I dont use RAMMap).

    1. PingID shows a blank window

    2. Visual Studio 2017 shows just a rectangle

In both cases clicking in the right window areas shows relevant popup menus.

This looks to me like some issue related to the display adapter. Uninstalling the adapter results in a resolution drop to 640 pixels, both apps work then.

After Re-Installing any other driver (tried few versions) the issue disappears.

I can't find any solution to this so it would be cool if anybody did ;-)
