I am getting the following error trying to watch live TV or record it:
Video Error
Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly.
Please restart Media Center or restart the computer
What I have done:
Recently installed new PPA sound card
Turned off in the BIOS the onboard AC’97 and onboard VGA
Selected the PPA sound card and chose SPIDIF/Out and 5.1
I will get perfect THX 5.1 or DTS 5.1 audio when playing DVD’s with Windows Media Player
I will get computer sounds and the Windows Media Center Chimes.
I have tried the WMC setup several times but each time it gets to the play test sound I hear nothing.
What I do not get:
As soon as I go to Live TV I will get video for a couple of seconds with no sound and then the error pop up.
I also still get shudders even though the signal strength on the station is 4 green bars or higher
The video has worked fine before and I had no installation problems with the video card.
Computer Stats:
Brand New NO Viruses or Spyware NO AIM NO File Sharing Programs so its none of those ridiculous supposed fixes that I have been reading about.
