Run an IBM Command Line RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need to run several IBM Command Lines to SCCM Clients...

    . db2licm -l

    . db2licm -g c:\temp\ibm

    . showlic.exe

What is the best way to do it?

    - Script?

    - Deployment Application?

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • Hi,

If you have installed IBM Db2 on the clients, you can choose either script or application, there is not much difference.
I think the slight difference is that the script is more real-time, once execution of your script begins, it's launched quickly through a high priority system that times-out in one hour. The results of the script are then returned using a state message system. If a script does not run, for example because a target device is turned off during the one hour time period, you must run it again.

  • Hello Allen,

I created two deployments application which will run two scripts command files:

    AND

The result file is empty!!! Just "License Compliance Report" nothing else in the text file!!!

    showlic.cmd:

    showlic.cmd
    -----------------------------------------------
    cd c:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\25
    showlic.exe

    and

    db2licm.cmd

    cd c:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN
    db2licm.exe -l
    db2licm.exe -g c:\Temp\Licenses_SPSS.txt

How to get the file Licenses_SPSS.txt or its content in SCCM as a query, report or other...?

    Thanks,

    Dom

Do you mean when you check Licenses_SPSS.txt on the client, nothing created in the txt file?
Do you try to run the command line directly on the client?
