    Hi!

i bought a Lenovo Laptop some time ago.I did not get ant Vista home Basic CD. Instead, i got Recovery inside my Hard Disk. This Recovery has now got corrupted and its Empty now. There is no recovery option available now.

My Windows Vista is not activated and shows error code 0x80070426 while trying to activate. I have also tried to start Software Licensing Service but it shows an error 0xd0000022: 0xd0000022.

Moreover, in my System Properties, the product ID is shown as a big code in the format *****-OEM-*******-***** and Windows Sticker on the back of my Laptop shows different key in the format *****-*****-*****-*****-****

Should both these be same? i do not know about them. My Control Panel is not working fully. I cannot update my Windows. Apart from that, there are several errors that have started in the system.

Can anybody help me out in activating my Windows and Creating a Recovery to handle any problem in future?

  • Right Click on My Computer and goto properties.

Once you are there, Under Windows Activation, Click on Change Product Key and then enter the Key found on the sticker. Make sure that you are online when you do this. If you have further issues with activation, I strongly recommend that you contact your vendor.
