UAG home drive mapping RRS feed

  • Question

  • If we had hundreds of users spread accross 13sites each site has a 2008DC. Each DC has user home drives \\dc\first.last$. The UAG server is implemented at one site with internet access/internal network access.

How do I add users home drives to the portal? Do I have add each dc in the "file access" page?. Is there a way that UAG could read the user profile object and obtain the homedirve from there?

    thx jason

  • Hi Amigo. No need to add the DCs to File Access. Just open File Access Configuration (Menu->Admin->FileAccess->Configuration) and choose between "Use Domain Controller Settings for Home Directories" (this way the home directory is automatically retrieved from user attribute in Active Directory) or "Use the Following Template for Home Directories" (this way you can specify a pattern e.g \\server\%username% in case there is no attribute in AD or even there is no AD ;-)
