Windows 10 Photot Viewer RRS feed

  • Question

  • My computer updated Windows 10 today (5-28-2017) and now the Photo Viewer does not work as it did before. When you open a JPEG file in a given folder it will not let you use the forward or back arrows to go from picture to picture in the folder as it did before. Both arrows are grayed out.

    What's up?

  • Microsoft doesn’t have the official Windows Photo Viewer version for Windows 10.In Windows 10 Photos is the default app.

    To restore Photo Viewer see:

  • Hi vcc48,

Windows 10 has a bunch of new apps, including a new Photos app. Windows Photo Viewer isn't included in Windows 10, but if you upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, your PC might still have it. To find out, press and hold (or right-click) a photo in File Explorer, select Open with, and look for Windows Photo Viewerin the list. If it isn't there, it cannot be installed on Windows 10.

If you install Windows 10 from scratch, you could try to check the Registry.
