we have a DELL Precision WorkStation T3500 running with a Intel Xeon W3530 CPU.
The OS is Windows 8 32 bit. Task Managers report only 1 core (image below), however this CPU does have 4.
Is there a compatibility problem?
Check your BIOS version at the Dell web site.
Once you've done that, press F2 during the POST and carefully check all your BIOS settings to see if some option is set there that may be blocking your ability to see all the cores...
I am able to see all logical processors (using Hyperthreading) on a Dell Precision T5500 workstation...

it was indeed in the BIOS the problem. Multi core support was disabled.
