Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials - setting RDP defaults

  • How can I configure the default RDP performance settings for users on my server?

When they log in, RDP file downloads and the can connect. But there's no option on their RDP clients to set performance options.

So I'd like to figure out how I can set default RDP options from the server including resolution and color depth.

Can someone tell me where the defautl configuration is stored for Remote Web Access is on the server? how do I change the defaults?

  • Hi,

Would you please let me know your detailed request? Please understand that you can only run full Remote Desktop services on the second server. You need to buy SBS 2011 Premium Add-On. The way it works is - you will get a license of another Windows 2008 R2 Standard edition. On that you can install fully functioning RDS Host. You will also need to buy RDS CAL for the users - one per each named user or per device whatever works best for you.

    Best Regards,
